ALBANY-Annamay Maimone Dames went into eternal rest peacefully on October 18, 2021.
She was born on September 2, 1939 in Albany, NY to the late Samuel Maimone and Antoinette Gallitelle. She will now be reunited with her husband Robert Charles Dames whom she has greatly missed all of these years.
Annamay loved life and lit every room up that she walked into. Annamay loved going to the casino and playing cards with her "Card Family" and will missed forever at the card table. Annamay touched everyone's lives who knew her. Annamay will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Annamay worked for American Greetings as well as Bob n Rons Fishfry in her younger years with her most recent job working with children at South Colonie High school for 22 years. Annamay loved being around her family. Most recently she resided with her daughter Linda who took care of her until the end. Although she is physically gone from us, we will always remember her funny conversations and her caring ways. Holidays and Holiday dinner will Never be the same.
She is survived by her children, Linda Dames Powell and Thomas Dames; her grandchildren, Melissa Dames Thapa (Kim), Danielle (Mike) Zazycki Bradt and Samantha (Chris) Zazycki Marino; her great grandchildren, Kaley Thapa, Dexter & Harrison Bradt and William Marino. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel (Elaine) Maimone; sons-in-law, Stephen Zazycki, Samir (Reema) Thapa and many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Annamay was predeceased by her husband Robert Dames; her daughter, Debra Zazycki; her son, Robert Dames Jr; her son-in-law, Michael Powell and her daughter-in-law, Joanne (Jojo) McGraw Dames.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 10am-12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at 12pm. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
