Anne E. Grant

COLONIE – Anne E. Grant passed away at her home on Monday, December 5, 2011 and now joins her beloved husband. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Eleanor A. Gurren. She has been a resident of Colonie since 1961. After retiring from New York State Dept. of Transportation, Anne worked part time for the Saratoga Flat Track and St. Helen's Afterschool Program. She thoroughly enjoyed her job at the race track and especially loved spending time with children. Anne is the beloved wife of the late James E. Grant, Sr. She is the devoted mother of James E. (Theresa) Grant, Jr. of Niskayuna, J. Walter "Ted" Grant of Niskayuna, Anne Marie (Daniel J. Van Buskirk) Marron of Gansevoort and J. Douglas (Dianne) Grant of Duanesburg. Anne is the loving sister if Margaret Backstom of Colonie, Walter J. Gurren of Saratoga, Mary Gurren of Schenectady and the late John Gurren. She is the cherished grandmother of Bryanna J. Marron, KaseyAline E. Marron, Dominic J., Maria C. and Vincent J. Catalfamo, Gina M., Marilana T., Angela O., John D. and Justin J. Grant. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Summit Cemetery, Summit, NY.
