COLONIE- Anne G. Bradley Traeger of Colonie, passed away on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at St. Peters Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late James and Frances Brown Bradley. Anne had worked for Williams Press and Montgomery Wards for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Teamsters Local 294. Anne and her husband were foster parents over a ten year period to many teenage girls.
She is the beloved mother of Stanley E. Brizzie and Christine A. (William) Zoller. Cherished grandmother of Geoffrey and Jacqueline Zoller and Summer Brizzie. She is the sister of Frances Rubino, Catherine Boyagian, Edmund Bradley, Daniel Bradley and the late James Bradley, Helen Prall, Robert Bradley and Ruth Milgo. She is the foster mother of Barbara Roylance and Ruth Egleston. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Anne was a friend and mentor to many. Everyone was charmed by her quick wit and humor. She enjoyed longs talks with her grandchildren, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and watching 'Dancing with the Stars'. She was one to spout idioms quite often such as 'This too shall pass", 'a leopard can't change its' spots' and 'the more I see of men, the more I like cats and dogs' (excluding, of course, the love her life, Bill). Of her illness, she would say, "It is what is it is". She loved to debate and would never lose when taking a stand. She certainly shared this wonderful attribute with her family, 'never give up the ship', especially when you are right.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Anne G. Traeger.
