I'm happy that I learned to fly,
To lift the plane from earthly bond,
To climb and soar the world beyond
Alone up in the sky.
From valleys wide to mountains high
I cruise above the land below
With more delight than you could know
Alone up in the sky.
The fields and roads beneath me lie,
With lakes and rivers in between,
The loveliest world I've ever seen
Alone up in the sky.
To find a heaven when I die
I'd need to wear a silver wing;
My soul would then forever sing
Alone up in the sky.
