SCHENECTADY-Annetta Colonno Dean Hallak, 96 passed away at Kingsway Arms Nursing Facility, on Friday, March 24, 2017.
Annetta was born in West Albany on July 20, 1920 to the late James and Mary Colonno. She was the wife of the late Stanley Hallak.
Annetta was predeceased by her siblings; Rose Melucci, Theresa DelPozzo, Daniel Colonno, Alexander Colonno, Anthony Colonno, Mary Urban, and Anna Remy, and her great-grandson, Dean Harden.
She is survived by her loving children; Ralph (Ansje) Dean, Joseph (Arlene) Dean, and Anthony (late Patricia) Dean, her step children; Beverly Shea, Karen Hallak, Linda Hallak, James (Caroline) Hallak, and Steven (Donnie) Hallak, her grandchildren; Deborah (David) Prost, Joseph (Sadie) Dean, Jr., Tiffany (Derek) Abraham, Michelle (Casey) Harden, Tina Martinez, and Annette (Sean) Taggart, her great-grandchildren; Ian and Mallory Prost, Christopher and Alexis Dean, Trinity, Kendall and Madden Abraham, Stella Grace, Luke and Gabriella Harden, and Antonia Taggart, her sister, Virginia Urban, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Annetta worked hard all of her life and for over 40 years worked alongside her husband in business supplying bakery ingredients to many bakeries and restaurants in the Capital District and surrounding areas.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Parkland Garden for welcoming Annetta and providing a safe comfortable atmosphere when she moved there. She made many friends and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and especially Wii Bowling.
The family also wishes to thank all those who cared for Annetta during her illness, especially the Visiting Nurses of Schenectady County, and all the staff of Kingsway Arms who took such good care of her during her final few months.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1255 Pleasant St, Schenectady, NY 12303, on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 9:00am. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
