Annette Soule

February 7, 1936 — March 26, 2021

Annette Soule, 85 passed away peacefully at home March 26, 2021, in Newport News, VA - with her loved ones holding her hand. Annette was born in Birmingham, AL, February 7, 1936, the baby of the family to the late Bruce and Rosa Mae (Pinkard) Thomas.

Annette received her education from the AL school system. Annette met Eugene, an Air Force man, and in 1956 they were joined in holy matrimony. To this union 3 children were born, Eugene Jr (Lorraine) of Greeleyville, SC, Roslyn of Newport News, VA, and Andre (Eboni) of Williamsburg, VA.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene of Troy, NY, her brother James Thomas of Birmingham, AL, and her sister Bernice Robinson of AL.

Her work history after relocating to NY included Williams Press, Menands, NY, RPI, and St Mary's Hospital, Troy, NY where she retired.
Annette enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid card player that could play poker with the best of the best. Annette will be missed greatly by those she leaves behind. We know she is out of pain and in the Lords hands.

To cherish her memories, she leaves her 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, 1 sister-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Van Renssalear Manor, especially her aide Juanita Buchannan for the care our mother received. We would also like to thank the staff at Heart Home Health Care, Virginia Beach, VA for all the support and care for making sure Annette was comfortable, and in the least amount of pain as possible in her final days. Lastly, we thank the staff at New Comer Cremations & Funerals for all of the support and care provided to us during this difficult time.

Those wishing to pay final respects to Annette can do so Monday, April 5, 2021 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189 from 10:00am to 11:00am. Immediately following the service, Annette will join her husband at Gerald B. Solomon Cemetery for her final resting place. Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
