ALBANY – Annie L. Callens entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 9, 2006 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY, following a long illness. She was born on October 28, 1930 in Selma, Alabama to the late Levi and Annie Mae Callens. She worked at the Albany Guardian Society Nursing Home as a cook for 35 years. After she retired in 1997, she continued working in her church and community. Annie was a faithful member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Albany's South End for over 50 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers, Andrew Callens and William (Bill) Robinson, two nieces, Theresa and Clarissa Callens all of Albany, one nephew, Reginald Johnson of Minnesota, one sister-in-law, Mary Callens of Albany, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church 58 Alexander St, Albany. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon on Friday at church. Interment Graceland Cemetery in Albany.
