ALBANY – Annie Pearl Willis, 77, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at her home.
Annie was born on July 23, 1934 in Winston Salem, NC and was the daughter of the late Luther and Sallie (Richard) Carter. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter L. Willis who passed in 1995. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Sarah and Mattie Lou.
She enjoyed cooking, fishing, scratch offs, bingo, going to the Racino and most of all laughing. She was a former member of Elijah Baptist Church.
Annie is survived by her loving children, Nate Cannon, Ruby (Buddy) Tillman, Sallie (James) Chapman, Walter (Brenda) Willis Jr., and Ricky (Lisa) Willis; her adopted daughter and best friend, Bea Myles; 22 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Olive Southern Missionary Baptist Church, 236 No. Pearl St., Albany. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Interment Graceland Cemetery in Albany.
