Troy- Anson R. Watters, Jr., 78, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, April 23, 2006. Born in Fowlerville, Michigan, he was the son of the late Anson R. Sr. and Estell Watters. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during WWII. Anson had worked for a number of years as a machinist at Norton Company in Watervliet. An avid mechanic Anson enjoyed working on automobiles in his spare time. He is predeceased by his brothers Fred and Jim Watters.
Anson is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Elizabeth Watters of Troy, his daughter Marie Serson and husband Robert; his three sons, Tracy Watters and wife Fing of Atlanta, GA, Michael Watters of Norfolk, VA, and Ernie Diehl of Troy. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, his brother Vern Watters and wife Judy, his three sisters, Lorina Zowiernskowski and husband Don, Velna Hoag and Francis Knoop and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 Pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Anson R. Watters, Jr.
