Anthony Belardo

Anthony "Tony" Belardo, went to the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Stratton VA Medical Center, after a short illness. Anthony was born on May 20, 1917 to the late Salvatore and Rose (Sciacca) Belardo. He was a life time resident of Albany and attended Albany schools. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Atlantic. He was a restaurateur and was a member of the NYS Liquor Dealers Association. He was a member of Christian Assembly of God Church. In addition to his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary (Crisafulli) Belardo; his son, Richard James Belardo; brothers, Joseph Belardo, John Aidala, Sam Aidala; sisters, Mary Palella and Betty Downs and his Godmother, Francesca Lombardo.
Anthony is survived by his loving son, Dr. Salvatore (Diana) Belardo of Niskayuna. He is the grandfather of Anthony Belardo of London, Canada, David (Anne) Belardo of Ashburn, VA and Maribeth (John) Pagoda of Ballston Spa. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren Mattison, Jacob and Nicholas Belardo, and Parker Pagoda. He is also survived by his brother, Vincent Belardo, a sister, Pauline Garavelli and a sister-in-law, Rose Crisafulli, dear friend, Dr. Charles Weijer, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 12 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Assembly of God Church, Yardboro Ave., Albany, NY 12205 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Anthony Belardo.
