GUILDERLAND, NY – Anthony Kaczkowski of Guilderland, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 1, 2008. He was born in East Orange, NJ and spent many happy childhood years in Pennsylvania before moving to Schenectady when he was twelve years old. Anthony was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He retired from General Electric after working 35 years in various project management positions. He was a member of the GE Elfun Society and the Esperance Elks. Anthony was an avid sports enthusiast. He participated on numerous softball and football teams. He played linebacker for the Metro Mallers and was also co-owner of the team. Anthony also played semi-pro ball for the Schenectady Stormers and Hudson Falls Green Jackets. He was inducted into the Green Jackets Hall of Fame in 2005. In recent years, Anthony enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Sacandaga Lake. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Barney and Helen Kaczkowski. Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Rosano-Kaczkowski. He is the devoted father of Kathleen (Matt) Dufort of Saratoga Springs, Christine (Chris) Caporale of Niskayuna and Katelyn Kaczkowski of Guilderland. He is the cherished grandfather of Connor, Andrew and Christian Dufort and Nicholas and Olivia Caporale. He is the brother of Bernie (Cher) Kaczkowski of Schenectady, David (Sylvia) Kaczkowski of Altamont and Barbara Benson of Albany. Also surviving are aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Kaczkowski.
