COLONIE – Anthony J. Di Domenico, Jr., 90, of Colonie, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Cohoes on December 24, 1930 a son of the late Antonio and Caroline (Caputo) Di Domenico, Sr.
Anthony was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
Following the military, Anthony was employed as a brakeman for the railroad at the Port of Albany until his retirement.
Retirement did not slow Anthony down. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, spending time with family. He helped friends and family as a handyman and many times he would be tinkering around the house with various projects. He cherished every day when he would walk his granddog, Mercy. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Clare's Church, even attending Mass the weekend before his passing.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Di Domenico in 1977 and his brother, Alphonse.
Anthony is survived by his wife of many years, Mary Di Domenico; his children, Anthony J. III, Carolyn, and Christine Churchill; his grandchildren, Michael (Tammy), Elizabeth and Kate Churchill; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Bella and Maddie Aiken; his sisters, Ann Warwick, Rose DiBenedetto and Mary Morin as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, October 1 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will follow immediately at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
