Anthony J. Gardy, Sr.

ALBANY – Anthony J. "Jimmy" Gardy, Sr., passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 on his 65th birthday, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John and Emma Gardy. Jimmy lived in Albany for all of his life. He worked for the Dept. of General Services in the City of Albany from where he retired. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling to Florida to visit his son.

He is the beloved father of Anthony J. "Tony" Gardy of Ocala. FL. Jimmy is the loving brother of Caroline Swartz of Clifton Park, John Gardy of Albany, Joseph Gardy of Troy, Sissy Dowen of Colonie, Cathy Blackman of Albany, Sam Gardy of Colonie and the late Louise St. Louis. Also surviving are many cherished nieces and nephews. Jimmy was predeceased by his longtime companion of 33 years, Audrey E. Bond.


Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Men ands. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Pine West Plaza, Suite 204, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Anthony J. Gardy, Sr.
