COLONIE- Anthony J. Vivenzio, 76, of Colonie, passed away suddenly on Wednesday December 26, 2007 at his residence in the company of his loving family.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Joseph and Concetta Vivenzio. Tony served in the US Navy from 1948 through 1950. A talented sheet metal worker, he was member of Local 83 in Albany for over fifty years, retiring in 1989. Tony was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and a master gardener. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren sharing his wonderful stories. He was a member of the American Legion Zaloga Post and Voorheesville Rod & Gun club. Tony will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gladys Thomas Vivenzio; his children, Joseph (Karen), John (Mitzy), Anthony Jr. (Carol), Walter (Cathy) Vivenzio, Cynthia (Mike) Justice and the late Jeffrey Vivenzio. He is the brother of Jennie Barretta. Cherished grandfather of Ian, Jeffrey, Jason, Jennifer, Jeremy Nicole and Meghan. Great grandfather of Isabella, Giuliana and Sophia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 8:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Margaret Mary Church, Albany at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
