ALBANY- Anthony V. Lomonoco "Tony," of Niskayuna, age 73, passed away on November 2, 2022 after a long illness.
He was born in Castiglione, Italy, the son of the late Antonino and Carmela Lomonoco. He came to the United States as a young boy and was raised in the South End of Albany.
Tony attended Hudson Valley Community College and obtained a degree in Electronics. In 1983 he opened and operated the Albany Port Tavern until 2013 where he was famous for his skills on the pool table. Tony was also an avid pinochle player with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed dining out and vacationing with his wife Mary, as well as his daughter's family and friends.
He was an extremely proud father of his daughter Christine and her accomplishments, including her marriage to the "best son in law ever," Dave. Becoming Grampy to their two children brought him great joy and he was always amazed and proud of them.
Tony is survived by his wife of 54 years Mary Lomonoco, who he knew since the age of 14; his daughter, Christine Lomonoco Baumann (David); two grandchildren: Anthony (who he affectionately called "Antonio") and Gabrielle Baumann (who he affectionately called "Baby Girl").
Private services were held on November 8, 2022.
