Anthony B. Manzi

February 3, 1932 — March 28, 2020

Anthony Biagio Manzi Sr. 88, of Schenectady, passed away March 28 with his loving wife of 66 years, Phyllis, by his side.

Born February 3, 1932 in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph and Yolanda Manzi.

Anthony was a U.S. Marine and Combat Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for many years for the Golub Corporation.

In addition to being a devoted member of Saint John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady, he visited hospitals as a Eucharistic Minister and often cooked for the church as well.

He and Phyllis proudly raised nine children, from living on a farm in Halfmoon to a home in Schenectady.
Anthony enjoyed boating, making birdhouses, baking bread and Italian cookies, watching films (especially old classic Westerns), fishing, beautiful music, and spending time with his family.

Anthony's name was given to three generations after him: his son, grandson, and great-grandson.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis, his 9 children Belinda (Julian Wake), Margaret (Michael Gervasio), Anthony II, Lonnie (William Bena), John (Joanne), Frank, Kathy (Edward Lambert), Joe (Elizabeth), and Mary (Richard Garry), 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and his brother Frank.

A Celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
