Albany- Anthony P. Lombardo, 79, passed away on Sunday, October 01, 2006 at the Northwoods @ Rosewood Gardens. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Joseph F., Sr. and Genevieve Lombardo. Anthony served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He had worked for the Unites States Postal Service until his retirement in 1985. Anthony was a member of the American Legion. He is predeceased by two sisters, Rose Burns and Mary Dunn and a brother Vincent Lombardo.
Anthony is survived by five brothers and sisters, Jane Le Morta of Colonie, Dominick Lombardo of Albany, Mollie Lang of Albany, Ann Lombardo of North Greenbush and Joseph F. Lombardo, Jr. of Watervliet. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. The Family would like to extend a special thanks to Rensselaer County Hospice and the staff at Rosewood Gardens for their wonderful and compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. John's St. Ann's Church, Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
