COLONIE - Anthony Salvatore "Sonny" Servideo, 86, passed away peacefully in his cherished recliner on December 30, 2022. Born on July 11, 1936 in Herkimer, NY, Anthony was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Fiorentino) Servideo.
Anthony graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY. He then worked many years at the N.Y.S. Department of Labor. He was a communicant of The Church of St. Clare in Colonie. Anthony enjoyed spending time with his crazy Italian family. He loved horse betting, EWTN channel, books about the history of Rome, cavity-causing candy and Notre Dame football. He always had a nickname to give. Anthony was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him (but maybe not his dentist).
He is survived by his children: Anthony (Donna) Servideo and Lisa (Ted) Soltys; grandchildren: April "Duke", Andrea "Androtti", Lauren "Blue" (Emerson), and Jackie "Biaggi" (Simphewe); his great-granddaughter, Amelia Mary, who affectionately called him "Pip" and brother-in-law John Ryan. Anthony is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thank you to dear friend and neighbor, Raye Goodfriend.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marilyn; his step-father, Angelo; brother-in-laws Paul (Vonnie) and Bobby (Emma) Ryan.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00am on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Church of St. Clare, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am at the church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of St. Clare in Anthony's memory.
