Anthony D. Wallace

April 13, 1965 — August 12, 2024

Troy

Anthony D. Wallace, 59, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 12, 2024, much to the shock and sadness of his family and friends. Anthony was born on April 13, 1965, to the late Estella (Small) Wallace and Canty (Buster) Wallace. In 1984, he graduated from Troy High School in Troy, NY, where he was a star forward on the varsity basketball team.

He remained in Troy after graduation and worked at Marcone Supply in Albany, NY, for 13 years. As a member of social clubs Urban Trio and YHOC (Young Heads of the Century), Anthony could often be found in the company of his cousins and friends and will be remembered for the joy and laughter he brought to others. An avid car lover, he often reminisced about car shows he attended with his father and cousins. And when it came to music, Anthony was a true fan of the groups Slave and Parliament-Funkadelic. While he will be deeply missed, we can find comfort in remembering Anthony doing the things he loved: watching Superfly, catching a Miami Dolphins game, or listening to Atomic Dog while enjoying some good pizza, chicken wings, and his mom's mac & cheese (which he greatly missed since her passing), then chasing it all with a cold beer.

Anthony is survived by his daughter, Emani Wallace of Troy, NY; sister, Tiffani Wallace of Atlanta, GA; older brothers Harold (Athena) Small of Schenectady, NY; Charles (Anna) Tucker, Spartanburg, SC; brother-cousins, Lee Wallace and Steve Mack; sister-cousin, Jacquie Johnson, and partner Carmellia Green, all of Troy NY. He also leaves behind several loving family members: nieces and nephews, Riauna Carr, Nicholas Small, Jeremey Tucker, Cheyenne Tucker, and Jeremy Tucker, Jr.; two godbrothers Sean Parker and Johnny Pompey III; aunts, Hellen (Walter) Thompson, Greeleyville, SC, Shirley (Jasper) Holmes, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Deloris Alsten of Murrells Inlet, SC; three great aunts, Eula Mae Gibbs, Myrtle Beach, SC, Leola Small, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Margaret (Benjamin) Richardson, Myrtle Beach, SC; one uncle, Charles (Geneva) Small, of Pawleys Island, SC, and a host of cousins, relatives, and sorrowing friends.

Calling hours will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 5th Avenue, Troy, New York on Saturday August 24, 2024 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 am at the church. Burial will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY.
