ALBANY-
Annie was a first generation Italian American whose parents Felix and Catherine emigrated from Potenza Italy in the early 1900's. She was born and raised in a house built by her father in Colonie, New York. As a youngster she attended Roseville School where she played basketball and had the nickname "Zee". She helped her dad make his homemade "Dago Red" wine and worked with him in his large garden. When she met her husband Charlie, he was renting a room from her sister Lou and husband George Hughes. They were married in 1941 after which Charlie went in the Army and overseas as a Sergeant. Their first child Judy was born in May, 1942, the second Mary born in January, 1945.
During their life together Annie and Charlie enjoyed golfing, bowling, and belonged to several leagues in the early 90's. They were members of the Western Turnpike Country Club. Her energy and excellent physical condition could be attributed to her walking 2 and 3 miles a day until Arthritis got to both of her knees in her early 90's. Mary and Judy threw parties for her 90th, 95th, 99th, 100th, and 101st birthdays, which all were well attended by friends and family.
