WATERVLIET – Antonio Orazio Perrotta, 90, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's. Born in Cervinara, Avellino, Italy, he was the son of the late Guiseppi and Mariannina (Caporaso) Perrotta.
Antonio married his late wife, Rita (Patrignani) Perrotta on October 21, 1956. He came to America in 1958. Antonio worked for Marshall Ray for 20 years until it closed in 1979. He then spent 10 years with New York State Department of Taxation and Finance until his retirement in 1989. In his free time, Antonio enjoyed making homemade wine, gardening, cooking and watching the Yankees.
Along with his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by 9 siblings.
Antonio will be missed by his only son, Nicholas L. Perrotta and his wife Jan B. (Flood) Perrotta; granddaughter Samantha N. Reichel and her husband Shane Reichel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews still residing in Italy.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday from 1:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospice Inn, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in Antonio's name.
