Antonio Troiano, 73 husband of Angela Maria Troiano (Sposito) of Latham, NY peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 22, 2025 after a challenging battle with cancer.
Born October 28, 1951 in San Martino Valle Caudina, Italy to the late Alessandro Troiano and Luigia Lanzotti, Antonio (Tony) came to America in 1973 ‘to live the American dream’. In 1977 he met and married his sweetheart. They had 2 children and settled down on 6th Avenue in Watervliet, NY where he lived until moving to Latham, NY in 2001. He had multiple careers including working construction and machinery. He was a long term member of the Italian Community center in Troy, NY where he enjoyed playing bocce. Tony also loved cheering on his favorite soccer team, Napoli (Forza Azzuri!).
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Angela Maria, his daughter Luigia (Michael) Taccone, son Alessandro (Jessica) Troiano and his most cherished grandchildren Tristan, Jude and Domenica. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers- and sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Giovanna Troiano, brother-in-law Leopoldo Iacomino and father- and mother-in-law Vincenzo and Flavia Sposito.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:00 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2416 7th Ave, Watervliet, NY 12189. Entombment is to follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Niskayuna, NY 12309.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Tony may make a donation to his grandson Jude Troiano, who is medically complex with special needs, c/o Mr. and Mrs. Alessandro Troiano, 68 Cherry Avenue, Delmar, NY 12054
