GUILDERLAND – Archie E. Cellini, Jr. 80, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at his home.
Archie was born on October 8, 1932 in Amsterdam and was the son of the late Archie E. and Josephine (Carnevale) Cellini, Sr. and brother of the late Mary A. Kilinski. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for General Electric on their railroad for his entire career before retiring in 1987. He was a life member, past Commander and former chaplain at the North Albany American Legion Post #1610 and a life member of VFW Post #1895 in Schenectady. He was an avid bowler and a fan of the NY Giants and the Boston Red Sox.
Archie is survived by his loving children, Saundra (Charles Jr.) Bousa, Richard (Terri) Cellini Sr., and Laura (Douglas) Johnston; his cherished grandchildren, Richard Cellini Jr., Rachel Cellini, Charles Bousa III, Taylor Johnston, Alesia Bousa, and Emily Johnston; and several cousin, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Road, Schenectady. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
