GUILDERLAND – Arlene M. Lockwood, 84, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Capron. Arlene was raised and educated in Delmar before moving to Guilderland where she resided for most of her life. She was past-president of both the Guilderland Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the Guilderland V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Arlene enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her flowers and watching the birds. She is the beloved wife of over 60 years to Clifford I. Lockwood. She is the devoted mother of Clifford I. Lockwood Jr. of FL, Deborah Kilcher of FL, Stephen R. Lockwood of Guilderland, Karen Coughlin of Rotterdam and Joseph P. Lockwood of Guilderland. Arlene is the loving sister of Shirley Delay of OR and Janet Becker of AZ. She is the cherished grandmother of Colby, Jennifer, Paul, Ryker, Corrine, Lindsey and Joshua. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren and her dearest nephew, Jay Blendell of OR.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
