Arlene V. Matera, 92, of Albany, passed away on October 29, 2023 at Evergreen Commons Nursing and Rehab.
She was born in Albany on July 5, 1931 to the late Richard and Martha (Palmer) Sitcer.
Arlene loved music and dancing and bus trips to the Casino with her husband. She was kind and generous and loved being with her family and having fun. She was an avid gardener. Arlene was a lifelong resident of the Capital region and worked for Albany School District until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Nicholas Sr. as well as her sons in law, Bruce Coyle Sr., Robert Little, and 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Arlene is survived by her children Eileen Coyle, Christine Little, Nicholas Matera Jr., Sharon Cunningham (Marc), Daniel Matera (Lisa), Tracey Katsoudas (James), grandchildren Nicole Coyle (Tony), Bruce Coyle Jr., Jesse Little, Megan Rose (Doug), Kelly Ferris (William), Renee Demers (Matt), Daniel Matera, Brenna Katsoudas, Zoe Katsoudas and Krista Katsoudas, great grandchildren Braeden Rose, Weston Rose, Moxley Ferris, Daxx Ferris, Colette Demers, Sophie Demers, and sister Barbara Sitcer Wilson.
A mass will be held on Monday November 6th at 10am at Christ Our Light church, 1 Maria Dr, Albany, NY 1221. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Angels cemetery.
