SCHENECTADY – Arline Mauriello, of Schenectady, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2007. She was born in Windber, PA, the seventh of 10 children, on July 19, 1920, and was the daughter of the late Vincenzo & Luisette Scaglione. She graduated from high school in Windber, PA. Mrs. Mauriello was a resident of Schenectady for most of her life. Arline worked for the National Radiator Co. during World War II. She then worked with her husband for the Glen L. Martin Co. in Maryland which was the fist laboratory to help develop guided missiles, now recognized as the NASA Program. More recently, she worked for Schenectady Co. surrogate court from 21 years. Arline married her beloved husband, Francis J. Mauriello on July 31, 1948. Her greatest sacrifice was leaving her large family in Pennsylvania to move to Schenectady and care for her in-laws. In addition to her beloved husband, Arline is the devoted mother of Lawrence J. (Barbara) Mauriello of Dallas, TX and Francine A. (James) Fazio of Schenectady. She is the loving sister of Ellen Cover of Windber, PA. Arline is the cherished grandmother of Lauren Mauriello of Austin, TX, Jordan (Raema) Mauriello of Dallas, TX and Vincent Fazio and Gionna-Rose Fazio. Also surviving is her great-grandson, Dominic Mauriello. Arline devoted her life to being a mother and raising her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. Mrs. Mauriello liked square dancing and traveling with her husband throughout the United States and Europe. She was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church and a member of their altar rosary society. Arline will always be remembered as being blessed with the gift of hospitality.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 9:00 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Famiily Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Arline Mauriello.
