Cohoes – Armand I. Plouffe, 89, passed away Tuesday July 8, 2008 at the Stratton VA Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Armand was born in Cohoes the son of the late Moise and Matilda (Michaud) Plouffe. He was educated at the catholic schools of Cohoes and was a lifelong communicant of Holy Trinity Church. Armand worked for the City of Cohoes as a foreman with the Department of Public Works having retiring over twenty years ago.
Armand proudly served in the US Army from 1940 to 1946 with the 337th Signal Corps. His unit actively served in the European Theatre of the War and he met his wife of over 63 years, Joan, while serving in England. He was a long time member of the Halfmoon American Legion.
In addition to his wife, Armand is survived by his two daughters; Mary Ann (Gary, Sr.) Hebert of Latham and Christine Weaver of Watervliet, his grandchildren; Valerie (Paul) Inman of Watervliet, Wendy (Timothy) Breen of Latham, Gary (Annemarie) Hebert, Jr. of Voorheesville, Gregory Hebert of Watervliet and Jeffrey (Erin) Hebert of Latham; nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Sheila Hedge Homes, several nieces and nephews and dear friends Michael and Terry Brown. He was predeceased by his siblings; Eva LeMay, Anna Saddier, Nelda Sickles, Alfred Plouffe and Edward Plouffe
