Armilde Karmo

SCHENECTADY, NY – Armilde "Memm" Karmo, 93, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Estonia, she was the daughter of the late Priidik and Helene Peterson. She has been a resident of Altamont since 1952. Memm was a member of the Estonian Lutheran Church and many other Estonian organizations. She was the beloved wife of the late Aaro Karmo. She is the devoted mother of Enel (Aavo) Merend of Ballston Spa, Marika (Henno) Petersen of Sandy Hook, CT and Henno (Susan) Karmo of Guilderland. Memm is the cherished grandmother of Helve, Tia, Anne, Liisa Mai, Mariann, Tiina, Krista Mai and Anneli. She is the loving great-grandmother of Andrew, Emma, Johanna, Erik, Kristi, Helina, Tomas, Lia, Aleks, Marten and Erik.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer- Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Estonian American Fund, P.O. Box 7369, Silver Springs, MD 20907-7369 in memory of Armilde Karmo.
