Arnold D. Blanck Jr.

April 22, 1954 — December 28, 2023

Arnold Blanck Jr., 69, of Altamont (formerly Cohoes), passed away on December 28, 2023.

Born on April 22, 1954 to Arnold Blanck (2012) and Sherry Van Zandt (2011), he was the second of seven children.

Arnie (never call him Arnold) was a man of many talents. He could fix almost anything and loved solving problems, doing puzzles, and figuring out how to make something better. He could be quick to yell, but also quick with an infectious, hearty laugh. You knew he liked or loved you because he'd give you random things, offer you advice and try to help you whenever he saw the opportunity. He wasn't big on getting kudos for what he did and secretly philanthropic, frequently donating to charities like coats for kids, toys for tots, etc.

Arnie would always help people in need, whether it was fixing something, loaning or giving money, offering advice, or purchasing groceries or furniture for someone who needed it. He was the kind of guy who would go on vacation and spend half of the time fixing things around the house for his mom and sister.

He adored his granddaughters and his deceased dog Annabella, or 'puppy' to him. Arnie loved riding his motorcycle and being around hot rods. He went to the Americade almost every year since it started and enjoyed attending custom car shows.

In addition his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Donna Raia and stepdaughter Nancy Landrigan.

Arnie is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara, son, Arnold (Jessica), and three granddaughters, Chloe, Sophie, Charlotte, stepdaughters Barbara (Robert) Hill, Lee Ann Saceric, stepgrandchildren, Brittany and Jordan Hill and Morgan Haglund, Tori and Dominick Paul and Ashleigh Landrigan as well as his siblings, Allen (Nancy) Blanck, Kevin (Cheryl) Blanck, Wendy (Doug) Wardle, David (Tracy) Blanck and Keith Blanck.

A private service will be held for family and close friends.

Arnie, will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The world is a little more broken without him around, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
