Arnold "Arnie"John Busold, Jr (80), of Latham, NY, passed away at Albany Medical Center after a long illness surrounded by his loving family on September, 25, 2017. Born July 4, 1937 in Albany NY, Arnie, as his friends and family called him, had a zest for life and never settled for second best. Arnie was a lover of all sports, especially the San Francisco Giants baseball team and the NY Giants football team. Every August, he could be seen 'playing the ponies' at Saratoga Race track. Arnie enjoyed watching and discussing movies, often quoting his favorite lines from favorite films. He loved Lake George, Thousand Islands and The Irish Village in Cape Cod, vacationing there often and making many wonderful memories with friends and family.
Arnie graduated most likely to succeed from Schuyler High School in Albany, He attended North Adams State College on a basketball scholarship. He also attended SUNY Albany, Columbia University, studying Business Administration and Brown University's School of Finance. Arnie served his country in the Navy Reserves for 8 years.
Arnie worked for 37 years at City and County Savings Bank and then Home and City Savings Bank. During his tenure, Arnie served as the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Branch Networks and Vice President of Operations. He was a proud and active member of the Albany Institute of Banking for 35 years. He joined the Employment Equality Program for Albany Banking and Banks in 1968.
Arnie was active in his community. He belonged to the Watervliet Elks Club 1500 and Colonie Kiwanis Club for over 45 years.
Arnie was the son of Arnold John, Sr and Helen Busold. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Geraldine Busold.
Family was the most important part of Arnie's life. Arnie will be forever missed and remembered lovingly by his wife of 59 years, June. They were high school sweethearts and best friends. Theirs was a true love story to be envied. He is also survived by three children: Dan Busold(Lori), Cori Robohn (Jay) and Michelle Gardner (Keith). He had five grandchildren that filled his heart with pride and joy. Megan Pyndus, Shaye Gardner, Kendall Gardner, Daniel Busold, Jr and Logan Gardner will keep his memory forever in their minds and hearts.
A warm and special thanks to all the nurses and the Albany Medical Center ICU department for their support and wonderful care of our beloved husband/father.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 10am-12pm at the Memory Gardens Chapel, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service will be officiated by Father John Tallman starting at 12:00pm & interment being held at the cemetery following the service.
