Schenectady – Arnold P. Labombard, 84, passed away Thursday April 3, 2008 at the Stratton V A Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Arnold was born in Chazy, NY the son of the late Paul and Mina Labombard. He proudly served in the US Army during WW II in the European Theatre. While in Belgium, he met and married his wife, Lydia. When they returned to the states, they settled in Albany and started a family. Arnold worked for a few different restaurants in the capital area throughout his years as a cook. For the last twenty of those years, he cooked at the Century House in Latham, retiring as a Chef.
Arnold was a hardworking family man who liked vacationing with his family, playing cards, recounting stories about his war days and of course the Yankees.
He is survived by his wife of more than 62 years, Lydia, their children; Robert (Cris) Labombard, Daniel Labombard, James (Kim) Labombard and Patricia (Michael) O'Toole, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 8:00am Monday from New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) then to St. Clare's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Calling hours are Sunday 3:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory's Garden Cemetery
