SCHENECTADY - Arthur David Chaires, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. He was born in Schenectady on December 1, 1948 at an even eight pounds, and has lived here his entire life. His education began at St. Columba's School on Craig Street, encompassing elementary and middle school. After graduating, he next attended Bishop Gibbons High School where he played on the school's football team, the Knights.
David's passion for "good food" led him to SCCC where he received an Associate degree in Culinary Arts. Since his graduation he has worked at several local restaurants finally landing at the Glen Eddy.
David pursued his love for speed on his Harley. Whenever their schedules permitted he rode with his brother Michael. Each year David attended the Americade, a biker's gathering at Lake George. Three years ago he purchased his "dream bike" - a Harley of course.
In his spare time, David enjoyed jazz and blues. His ready sense of humor knew no limits. Any subject was fodder for a joke. His serious sides showed that he believed in a Higher Authority, and his philosophy of life was treat everyone with respect, choose how you wish to live and have a good life.
Survivors include: mother, Dorothy Chaires; sisters, Claudia Fennicks and Wendy Brown;
brothers, Mark Chaires and his wife Theresa, and Michael Chaires and his wife Rebecca; former spouse Beth Paige and many nieces and nephews.
