COLONIE – Arthur F. Lenseth, 78, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at The Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Arthur was born on January 29, 1929 in Staten Island and was the son of the late Louis M. and Frances E. Connor Lenseth. He served in the US Navy from 1946 to 1949.
Arthur was a retired steamfitter of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #7, working first for Tougher Industries for 5 years then Stants Combustion Associates for 35 years. He was a communicant of St. Clare's Church in Colonie. He was a former member of both the American Legion Post 1040 in Delmar and the Knights of Columbus Council 3394 in Latham.
Arthur is survived by his children, Catherine Rahon and her husband Ted, Shirley Needham and her husband Don, Thomas Lenseth and his wife Marianne, Peter Lenseth and his fiancé Sue, Margaret Ranalli and her husband Mike, and James Lenseth and his wife Lisa; his brothers, Richard, Kenneth and Robert Lenseth; his step mother, Dorothy Lenseth; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 loving years, Margaret Mary Nerney Lenseth.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Clare's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory's Garden in Colonie.
