Arthur J. Cropsey, 94, went to his Lord on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Eddy Village, Cohoes. Arthur was born in Cohoes on April 13, 1921 to the late Edward Cropsey and Anna Mae (MacDuff) Cropsey.
He attended Cohoes Schools and worked for General Electric in Schenectady until 1943. He joined the Navy (Seabees) and served overseas until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He married the late Louise Kjelsburg in March 1946. Art lived in California for 64 years but returned to Cohoes after his wife passed in December 2010.
Art was a sales rep for AT&T for the state of California. He was a 70 year member of the Evening Star Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Scottish Rites.
He was predeceased by his brothers: Edward, Kenneth, Warren, Howard, sister Shirley Rogers and nephew Howard Cropsey.
He is survived by his sister Anna Mae Franklin, niece Linda Lyons of Colonie, and nephews: Mack Lyons of Albany and Garret Cropsey of Florida.
A graveside service will be held at 10AM on Thursday, October 29 at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205. In keeping with Arthur's wishes there will be no calling hours.
