ALBANY-Arthur H. Wolfgang, 95, of Albany passed way on Sunday December 24, 2006 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peters Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Harris and Genevieve Wolfgang.
Art had served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He was a graduate of CBA. Art operated Buckles & Wolfgang service station on the corner of Ontario and Central Ave for over thirty years. He was a longtime member of the YMCA and enjoyed handball racquetball and weightlifting. He was truly dedicated to his family and friends. Art is the brother of the late Edward J. Wolfgang and Genevieve E. Lyons.
He is the brother in law of William C. Lyons. He will be dearly missed by his cherished friends, Red Kurtzner and Sheila Hutchinson who have provided great care and companionship to Art. He is the beloved uncle of Susan Wolfgang, Carol (Brian) Weaver, John (Christina) Wolfgang, Mark (Rosemarie) Wolfgang, Mary (Dr. Patrick) McCarthy, Ann (Michael) Priester, Helene (Ronald) Belanger, Christine (Carl) Combs and Margaret (Terrance) Sauber. He is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning at 9:00 at Holy Cross Church, Western & Rosemont St., Albany. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Saratoga National VA Cemetery. At the request of the family, memorial contributions are suggested to Sisters of Mercy Retirement Fund, 310 S.
