Ashad Cooper, born in Albany, NY on January 16, 1990 to Sonya Stratton and Aaron Cooper, departed this life on February 7, 2024.
Ashad grew up in Albany and was educated in the Albany public school system. He made a name for himself, as a musical artist, social commentator and entrepreneur. He was outgoing and enjoyed interacting with others and making people laugh.
He was very generous with his time, energy and money. He often spent all three supporting local businesses, hosting events for his community, gifting children and donating goods to those in need.
Ashad was a person who brought big energy to any room he entered. His talent and vibe were unmatched.
To honor, cherish and preserve his memory, he leaves his beloved parents, daughters, A'Shari and A'Siyah Cooper, siblings Shanikqua Thomas, Antwan, Aquana, Arianna, Ambrielle, Ahnief Cooper and Daeson Frazier, maternal grandfather, Craig Umar Stratton, aunts & uncles, Khadijah, Mastafa, Ahmed & Craig Stratton, Sharon Dye, Darlene Farmer, Joan Bell, Demetrius Gilmore, William Bonds, Gilbert, Brian and Mathew Cooper and "mother-in-love," Sameialika Tarver.
Ashad was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Mary Adams and Deltie Cooper, maternal grandmother, Wanda Covington, maternal uncle, Naji Stratton, Sr. and brother, Damonjay Frazier.
He will be deeply missed by many more, including a host of cousins, colleagues and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday February 23rd from 10am-11am, with a service being held at 11am at Elijah Missionary Baptist church 70 Second Ave, Albany NY.
Interment immediately following in Graceland Cemetery.
