ALBANY- Aspasia "Bunnie" Pappas Zych, 90 years young, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on October 9, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Aspasia was the daughter of the late Constantinos "Gus" and Panay (Triantafilou) Pappas.
Bunnie was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley M. Zych; son, Steven; siblings, Alphonse "Al" Parker, Sophia "Sally" Yould, Demetrius "Jim" and Stephanie Riley.
She leaves behind her children, Michael Zych (June), Carol Zych, Kathleen Sabbag (William) and Christina "Tina" Post (Ed); grandchildren, Kristina Kemmer (Aaron), Stephanie Bruhn (Jason), Kathryn Capasso (Sean), Matthew Zych (Lauren), Adrienne Zych, Andrew Zych (Samantha), Brian Judd (Meghan), Christopher Judd (Victoria), Michael Judd, James Sabbag, Thomas Sabbag; dear brother, Harry Pappas (Fanu) of AZ; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Bunnie was a life long resident of Albany. For over 60 years Stan and Bunnie were soul mates. They loved and supported each other during 58 years of marriage. Bunnie loved music, theatre and the NY Yankees. She was a communicant of All Saints (St. Margaret Mary) and St. Casimir churches. She retired after 25 years with the NYS Dept. of Education.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff of The Terrace and Hawthorne Ridge and the 4th floor at Albany Memorial Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 9:00am at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St, Albany, NY 12203. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
