Audrey A. Henges

Audrey was 72 years young and she was one of the strongest woman that you will ever meet. She lost her battle on December 26th- suddenly and peacefully.

She was a New Year's Baby, born on January 1, 1948 in Schenectady, New York. She came from a large family her parents were Jacob Jacobs and Lillian Calkins. She had three sisters and five brothers, so you can imagine what kind of hurdles she had to climb.

Audrey married her best friend, David M. Henges and they were married 56 years this past November 15th. They had two children: Michael A. Henges (wife-Joann) and Melissa L. Conte (husband-Gene). She dedicated her life to be a strong presence in their lives and would go without to make them happy. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Shayna, David, Troy, Jonathan and Savannah and seven great-grandchildren and three grand doggies. Anytime she could get a chance to hold a baby or animal, she was right there.

She was very crafty and loved to sew for years. She was known to make baby outfits, blankets or Halloween costumes. Many of you may have a photo album she made for you on a special occasion. Her love for games kept her mind busy throughout her days long. Anywhere from Bingo, jig saw puzzles, word search books, computer games and keeping up to date with Facebook news. She was also known for her sense of humor and being down to earth. She had a lot of extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.

We will be holding her services on January 11, 2021 from 12 to 2 p.m. Private and by invite only. We would appreciate everyone following the COVID guidelines and not to gather too long. Masks are required, social distancing is to be observed and gathering size will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements.
