ALBANY - August A. Baglione, 90, was born into eternal life Saturday September 28, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital.
He was born on October 6, 1933, in Schenectady, New York. He was the son of the late Augusto and Mary Tucciarone Baglione. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He later worked at Albany County Nursing Home in the Business Office for 27 years. He was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church.
He was a lifelong member of The West Albany Italian Benevolent Society and enjoyed playing bocce on multiple leagues with fellow members. He was a life member of the Mckownville Fire Department, he loved serving the fire department but looked forward to his monday night card game. A special thank you to Dennis Mason who made sure he got there on Monday nights.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Sharon. He was the loving father of David, Emily Beth (Paul), and Brooke (Jacob). Not only was he a loving father to Brooke but he was her best friend. He was an adored grandfather to Jessica and Rebecca Baglione, and Lauren Bednarczyk. He was the caring brother of the late Lucy Galluzzo, Anna Panchick, Margaret Lombardo, Lena Bianchino, Armando Baglione, and Frank Baglione. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He had a special place in his heart for his niece Mary Galluzzo Burke (John). He is survived by his sister in law Meg (James Cahloun). A special thanks to his niece Courtney Rickert, for always making sure his hair and his eyebrows were always in top shape. He is also survived by his bonus granddaughter, Emily Doherty.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead Street, Albany.
