Latham-Augusta Georgette Turner, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2018.
Born on July 31, 1928 in Brussells, Belgium, a daughter of the late Jules and Alexina Rosseels.
On September 5, 1945, Augusta married her loving husband, Warren G. Turner while he was stationed during WWII in Belgium, it was a loving union of 58 years until his passing in 2004. At the age of 17, Augusta immigrated to the U.S. and resided on Sand Creek Road, Colonie where she became a citizen, raising her children and working for many years for various doctors.
Augusta is survived by her son, Warren J. Turner; grandchildren, Jean & John Turner, Jennifer Friend, Eric & Brent Dickinson, Christine Harris; great-grandchildren, Todd & Mikayla Friend, Emily & Sam Harris, Nathan, Ashleigh & Benjamin Dickinson. She was predeceased by her daughter, Georgette May Dickinson.
A prayer service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 12noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, a calling hour will be held starting at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Albany.
The family would like to thank those who cared for Augusta with such great patience at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing Home in her final days.
