ALBANY - On Monday, Jan 5, 2015, God called home a true angel, as Augustine S. Adams, "Nana" to all who knew and loved, passed from this earth.
Augustine was born to parents Jennie Lamon-Sanders & Walter Sanders on March 28, 1911 in New Orleans, LA. She was the 4th of 9 children. Augustine was predeceased by her 8 siblings and her beloved husband Henry Adams.
Augustine worked at Stratton V.A. Hospital as a dietitian until her retirement. She very much enjoyed Gambling and was very skilled at it. She also was a lifelong wrestling fan. Above all else, her main passion in life, indeed what she lived for, was her family.
She leaves behind a loving daughter, Sabra Plaskett,; devoted grandson Marlon Anderson; mourning grandchildren Derek, Sherman, Paula, and Allen Jr.; nephews John, Keith, Henry Jr, and Robert; nieces Evelyn and Anna Ruth, and special goddaughter Stacy Medley. She also leaves behind with unforgettable and unconditional love a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony will take place on Monday, January 12 at 12:30 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road. A calling hour will precede the service from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting and would appreciate any and all gifts that the public would care to offer.
The family will receive callers from 3:30pm at the home that Augustine and her Grandson shared, 491 Livingston Ave, Apt 1B, in Albany.
