RENSSELAER – Barbara A. Sturdivant, 70, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born in Halifax, VA on December 25, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Martha (Crews) Hester and Howard Thone.
Barbara is survived by her children, Milton L. (Candy) Edmonds, Sr. and Betty J. Cole; her grandchildren, Shawn, Tasheemia, Milton Jr., David Sr., Lee Sr., Jessica, Alisha, Akea, Tyheem, Shykeem, Rodney, Rochelle, Demmca, Renail and Rondell; 43 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; her Aunt Bertha and her dear best friend, Elizabeth Faulkner and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, James; her grandson, Robert and her son-in-law, Nelson Cole.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
