ALBANY – Barbara Arlene Foy, 66, of Albany, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on July 27, 1940 in Albany to Luther (Johnny) Kittell and the late Lillian E. Kittell. Barbara or Bobby as she was affectionately known was educated in the Albany School system and graduated from Schuyler High School. Barbara worked at Memorial Hospital for many years in what was once their Pediatrics department, showing her loving ways to all the infants as she did all that knew her. Barbara retired from the State of New York after serving several state agencies. Barbara was a member of the Walls Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in Albany.
Surviving to continue her legacy is a loving husband of 46 years, Alvin A. Foy, Sr.; four children, Robin A. Foy-Coleman, Michelle (Claxton) Wilson, Saberina (Alex) Ballard and Alvin A. (Michelle) Foy, Jr.; her father, Luther Kittell; her brother, Larry S. Kittell, five sisters-in-law, Sue Chalmers, Nervern Smith, Zelda Foy, Arlene Foy, Nicole Kittell; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Smith and John Henry Foy; making sure the legacy stays strong are 12 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Walls Temple A.M.E. Zion, 27 Delaware Street, Albany. Interment will follow at Memory's Garden, Colonie. Visitation will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.newcomerfamily.com
