In Loving Memory of Barbara Claire (Stroh) Baker
Barbara Claire (Stroh) Baker left her body on Thursday, July 8, 2021.
She grew up in Chappaqua, NY attending Horace Greeley High School.
Barbara Stroh was born on August 13, 1960 as the sixth of eight children to parents Richard and Patricia Stroh. In 1999, Barbara met her husband, Craig Baker. They were partners for 22 years, and married for the last 10.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Stroh, her brother, Richard Stroh Jr., her nephew, Jason Stroh, and her niece, Heather Stroh. She is survived by her husband, Craig Baker, her father, Richard Stroh, her uncles, Alan Atkinson and William Atkinson, her four brothers, Christopher Stroh, Thomas Stroh, William Stroh, and John Stroh, her two sisters, Laura (Stroh) Rose and Patricia Stroh, her four children, Jack J. Stroh, Nicole M. Pellegrini, Matthew J.S. Pellegrini (wife Lindsay (Crocetti) Pellegrini), Jessica L. Pellegrini, two step-children, Elyssa M. Baker and Michael C. Baker, and four grandchildren, Mackenzie A. Stroh, Jack W. Stroh, Fiona N. Pellegrini, and Torben J. Stroh along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a well-established Network Engineer for SAIC in Albany, NY and worked as Systems Administrator for Simmons Machine Tool for many years. Barbara also owned and ran a farm stand in the 90's when her children were young.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, and the glue that held her family together. She always had a love for gardening, great music, singing, dancing, hosting holiday gatherings for her family, sewing quilts for her children and grandchildren, and spending time on the beach near the ocean. She reached out and touched many lives and will be remembered as a shining light whose strength, resilience and spirit inspired those around her and whose smile would light up every room. Her spirit has left an imprint on the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Services will be held at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY in Watervliet, NY on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life at the family's home immediately after.
