ALBANY – Barbara "Bobbie" S. Lynch, 85, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Teresian House.
Bobbie was a graduate of Holy Names, received her Bachelors degree from College of St. Rose and received her Masters degree from the 1st Masters in Education class at St. Rose. She taught for 20 years in the Cohoes School District before retiring in 1968. After retirement, along with her husband, Daniel, they established "Munchkin Manor", a family daycare home for preschool children. Her civic involvement included the Alumni Association for Holy Names, The Delta Epsilon Society of St. Rose, The Cohoes Red Cross, Salvation Army, and St. Agnes Rosary Society.
Bobbie was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Daniel B. Lynch, Jr. She is the mother of Barbara (Donald) Lynch and the sister of Ned Smith. She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Mary (Monahan) Smith; her brothers, Jack, Sam, and Jim Smith and her sisters, Mary Gilbert and Lois Smith.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the second floor staff at the Teresian House for their loving and compassionate care for nearly nine years that was given to Bobbie.
A memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Teresian House, Infant of Prague Chapel. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Teresian House in the Williamsburg Room.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203 in memory of Barbara S. Lynch.
