Barbara A. Boyd

Amsterdam- Barbara A. "Anna" Boyd, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born in Albany to the late Stephen and Mary David.

Barbara retired from Sterling Drug Inc., after 20 years of loyal service. She enjoyed gardening, trips to Saratoga, and cooking. She loved her pets and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara was always there for her family and she was a very selfless person who was unconditional towards everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Archie Boyd; her sons, Archie and Gary Boyd; and her siblings.

She is survived by her son, David Edward; her grandchildren, Gary, Beth, David Emmett, Jami, Jessica, Archie, and John; four great-children; her nieces, Didi, Tootsie, and their siblings; her sister-in-law, Pat; and her daughters-in-law, Marion and Anita.

Calling hours will be held from 12pm-1pm on Friday, May 5, 2017 at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery in Glenmont.
