BALLSTON LAKE - Barbara A. Chartier, 83, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Troy, N.Y., to the late John J. and Dorothy A. Deerfield.
Barbara worked for the State of NY before she became a dedicated homemaker to her family. Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed playing pinochle and visiting Lake George, where she and her husband took trips on the scenic cruises. She also loved taking road trips around NY visiting the parks, museums and casinos.
Barbara will always be remembered for her kind, caring, and generous nature as well as her faith. She gave out so much love to all those around her, warming the hearts of many in return. Barbara will be truly missed by all those who she loved and all those who loved her.
Barbara was a devout Catholic and cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed visits from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her children, David (Lorie) Chartier, Steven (Leanne) Chartier, Jennifer Cardinal, Nelson Chartier, Suzanne (Bill) Gilday and James (Johanna) Chartier; grandchildren, Jesse, Christian, Joseph, Stephanie, Matthew, Alyssa, Emily, Michael (Paul), Ashlyn and Ella Grace; great-grandchildren, Lily, Alex, Evelyn and CJ (Christian James); Close cousins, Mark, Scott, Dennis and Jim Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, James N. Chartier; her sister, Linda; and her brothers, John, Edward, Michael, Fred and William.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her compassionate and devoted son, Nelson who provided kind, loving, and attentive care to Barbara. This care allowed for her to continue living in her own home surrounded by her family until her passing.
A committal service will take place on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11:00am at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, New York 12871. Please arrive no earlier then 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time as to not run the risk of attending the wrong service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 167 Milton Ave, Ballston Spa, NY 12020
