Barbara Derusso Kosier

Barbara De Russo Kosier, died May 10, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.Born June 9, 1935 in Albany, NY, Barbara was the daughter of the late James and Barbara (Simonetti) Dunney.
Barbara graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1953. She retired from the United States Department of Commerce Census Bureau in 1992. Barbara owned two saddle horses and enjoyed riding. She was an amateur photographer and enjoyed taking photos during her travels. She traveled in the family motor home through the United States, Mexico and Canada with her husband, Ed, and their two silver poodles, Sage and Divi. Barbara had an adventurous spirit as she enjoyed hiking, snorkeling, white river rafting, flying in a helicopter, hang gliding, climbing pyramids in Mexico, hot air ballooning, motorcycling and many other exciting activities. Barbara also had a love of gardening and tended to her roses with care.
Barbara was cherished wife of the predeceased John De Russo and predeceased Edward S. Kosier; loving mother of John (Paula) De Russo, Jeffrey De Russo, James (Kathleen) De Russo, Jay De Russo, and Barbara (Kevin) Catalano; stepmother of Deborah Allen; loving grandmother of Daniel De Russo, Jamie and Meadow De Russo, Janae, Cassandra, Jacob, Carly, and Ella De Russo, Thomas and Benjamin Gabriel, and Nicholas Allen. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16th at 10:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, and then to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 am. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 15 from 3:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany in Barbara's name.
