Barbara L. Dietzel, 64, wife of Roy E. Dietzel of Colonie NY, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at St. Peter's Hospital with family by her side.
Born September 7, 1958, in Dunkirk, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Virginia Parker.
Barbara attended Guilderland High School and graduated in 1977. In 1980, she graduated from Hudson Valley Community College. For 33 years, she worked for the State of New York including the Department of Civil Service, UAlbany, and the Capital District DDSO where she retired in October 2013. Barbara loved spending time with her friends and family, and for many years she enjoyed camping at Moffits Beach. Spending quality time with her grandkids and family brought her great joy.
In addition to her husband Roy of 39 years, she is survived by her children Jonathan, Michael, and Melissa Dietzel; honorary daughter-in-law's Jaime and Ashleigh; her three grandchildren, Mckenna, Harper, and Lillian; brothers John and David Parker; and her grand-dog Jillian.
Barbara is reunited in her passing with her beloved parents, and dear friend Kristy and beloved pets Jennifer and Abby.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with a service to begin at 11:00 am, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to support the future education of Barbara's grandchildren.
