Barbara D. Edgington

ALBANY- Barbara D. Edgington, age 56, passed away surrounded by family on August 2, 2020 at her residence.

She was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Paul Edgington and Harriett Campbell. She was also predeceased by her sister, Debra Bariteau.

Barbara was employed as a Home Health Aide for many years before becoming disabled. She loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing and all things leopard print. Barbara had a big heart and helping others.

She is survived by her children: Shatika Simmons (Mildred) , Jimmy Ray Edgington and Robert Simmons; best friend and her childrens father, James Simmons; grandchildren: Destiny, Joseph, Jaysea, Parker and Aidan; siblings: Paul Edgington (Debra), Randy Edgington (Darcy), Robert Edgington (Robin), Charmaine Edgington (William), Stephanie Salisbury (Eric), Raymond Reynolds, James Edgington (Amie), Jerry Edgington (Cheryl), and Corey Edgington; and brother in law, Larry Bariteau (dec. Debra). Also survived by many other siblings, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hour on Friday August 7, 2020 from 11 to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A celebration of life will follow at 12 Noon.

Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
